Kevin Durant Snubs Michael Jordan and Stephen Curry in his ‘Mount Rushmore’ of the NBA
The 2022–23 NBA season has gotten off to an explosive start for Nets star Kevin Durant. Despite only shooting slightly more than 32% from three through 12 games this season, the 12-time all-star is averaging 30.8 points per game on roughly 52% shooting from the field. Kevin Durant has established himself as one of the greatest players in NBA history during the course of his career.
Durant has continued to play at a very high level and has kept the Brooklyn Nets afloat despite all the turbulence as the team has struggled through a turbulent start to the 2022–23 season.
It’s amazing that Durant is already an all-time great because his legacy is still being created. Who else does he believe belongs in that discussion, though?

Durant discussed the NBA’s Mount Rushmore for small forwards with media personality Chris Henderson on Friday afternoon.
“LeBron, Kawhi, and Larry Bird,” Durant said.
So my guy @KDTrey5 gave me his Mt Rushmore for Small forwards. So I made it clear he has to be on it obviously… check out the other 3 he picked.

There is no questioning Durant’s talent, and while he continues to set new records every time he steps on the floor, it is difficult to argue that he doesn’t belong on the NBA’s Mount Rushmore of all-time small forwards.
It’s noteworthy that Durant mentioned Leonard, who has struggled with injuries throughout his career but is consistently one of the league’s top two-way players when he’s on the floor. Most of Durant’s decisions in this situation are rather simple.

At this point, James and Bird are locked in, and if Durant isn’t by the time his career is through, he will be. Tomorrow afternoon, Durant and the Brooklyn Nets will play the Los Angeles Clippers after Durant put up a 29-point effort on Wednesday.
