Kevin Durant Rumors: Time to Speculate the Trade Deal Involving KD and Brooklyn Nets

The first bomb has gone off with free agency set to begin in just a few hours. However, it is unrelated to free agency. Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant has sought a trade, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, and Sean Marks, the team’s general manager, is trying to locate a trading partner. The information was released just a few days after Kyrie Irving exercised his player option for the next year.

According to Wojnarowski, Durant has a wish list of teams, including the Miami Heat and the Phoenix Suns. While there are many discussions taking on across the league regarding where and which great players will be signed, one topic is undoubtedly dominating them all: where Kevin Durant will wind up.

Durant, who will be 34 this season, is still among the NBA’s finest players and continues to get better with age. Obviously, every club in the league should be considering the possibility of signing the 12-time All-Star, but in all likelihood, only a few teams are competing for the two-time NBA champion.

  • Miami Heat get Kevin Durant
  • Brooklyn Nets get Jimmy Butler and draft pick/picks

Due to the Designated Rookie Agreement Rule, which prohibits trading for two players who have the same kind of extension, the Nets are unable to acquire Bam Adebayo. Miami calling the Nets and offering Jimmy Butler seems absurd, but how could they not give that it is Kevin Durant?

Butler came close to destroying the Heat this year. That memorable altercation they had on the sidelines in March, after a losing run, left Erik Spoelstra in a state of shock.
