Kevin Durant Is Sick Of Treatment Russell Westbrook Is Receiving!

Kevin Durant, a former teammate of Russell Westbrook’s, has come out in support of the beleaguered Los Angeles Lakers point guard. Durant argued that Westbrook’s detractors had gone too far in their criticism in the most recent episode of his podcast with Boardroom, “The ETCs,” and he referred to the media environment as “toxic.”

The Nets player made the remarks in reference to Westbrook drawing criticism for a number of social media videos that showed him showing off on his own while the rest of the squad huddled up. One, in particular, attracted attention before a preseason game against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

In the Lakers’ penultimate preseason game against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday, viral videos showed Westbrook purportedly separating himself from his teammates before tip-off and then entering a team huddle late in the game went viral.

Westbrook is currently playing for a team with a sizable market and alongside the most well-known NBA player in the last 30 years, which has a significant impact on how people perceive him, according to Durant.

Despite all the chatter, KD is rooting for Brodie, stating he should keep playing, ignore the critics, and disprove everyone except for one.

Kevin Durant responds to trolls that attack Westbrook!

“I understand that there are certain points where you don’t play well, and you are open to criticism when you don’t play well — we get that. But it’s like now you’re making him the butt of your jokes. It’s getting to a point where it’s like, alright, I get the criticism for what he did that night, but now it’s starting to reach a different level with some shit that I don’t understand right now. So hopefully, he just keeps hooping and blocks all that noise out and proves to everybody that they’re wrong about how they feel about his game and they mesh over there in L.A. But when we play them, I hope they play shitty, but I hope all that stuff works out because I hate how they talk. The dialogue around our game is just so toxic at this point. I get criticism, but it’s starting to turn into something else right now.”

Durant continues, “I detest how people talk,” adding that he believes that NBA fans right now are generally more critical than usual. The conversation surrounding our game is currently so poisonous. I receive criticism, but it’s beginning to evolve right now.

Russell Westbrook has received a lot of nicknames over the previous year, to which Durant is undoubtedly alluding. Even worse for the guy, there is a video of Magic Johnson inadvertently calling him “Westbrick.” Videos of Russell yelling at supporters for calling him have already gained widespread popularity. But Durant’s critique of NBA supporters goes far further than that. Is Kevin Durant overreacting, or is the NBA genuinely having an issue right now?
