Spencer Webb, an Oregon Ducks tight end, died following an accidental fall only eight months after his girlfriend, Kelly Kay, gave birth to their kid.

On Friday, Kay uploaded a number of images on Instagram to announce the arrival of the newborn boy. She was shown holding him in her arms while wearing an Oregon Ducks blanket. In a another image, the baby’s footprints could be seen beside a picture of Webb’s football shirt hanging in the nursery.

The post’s caption said, “Spider Webb 3/30/23.” Spider was Webb’s nickname, and @spider_ was his Instagram username.

Seven months after she first said she was expecting, the birth announcement was made. One month after Webb’s unexpected death, there was also word of the pregnancy.

“We created an angel before heaven gained one 🕊 all you ever wanted was to be a father…I know you’ll be the best one from up above,” she wrote in her caption announcing the pregnancy in August. “Can’t believe I have to do it without you but knowing I’ll have a piece of you keeps me going. I can’t wait to meet the person that’s half you, half me. I love you forever, both of you 🤍♾🕷🕸 @spider_.”

Webb passed away on July 31 after suffering a brain injury while visiting Triangle Lake in Oregon. The area’s rock slides, which are inclined rock formations that tourists utilise as “natural water slides,” were reportedly the scene of claims that someone had been harmed, according to CBS News.

After falling and hurting his head, Webb was found unconscious “about 100 yards down a steep slope,” according to the investigators. Officials said they had not discovered any proof of wrongdoing.

Kay sent a heartfelt homage to her late partner the day after he passed away. “My life’s love, my dearest buddy, and my twin flame. Nothing has ever brought me as much joy as you do. You gave me a reason to live, you were my everything, you showed me what it’s like to be cherished and valued and seen for me,” she wrote in the tribute.”
