KC Chiefs Thriving Even Without Tyreek Hill

This past summer, it was anticipated that the Kansas City Chiefs would, at the very least, try to upgrade at WR2. Well, no one could have anticipated the complete overhaul of the wide receiving corps, which included moving Tyreek Hill, the team’s star receiver.

Many well-known players were let go by the Chiefs in exchange for fresh faces, including rookie Skyy Moore, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, and JuJu Smith-Schuster. Given that none of those players possesses the qualities Tyreek Hill possessed, many observers on the outside anticipated that the Chiefs offence would not only regress but also lose some of its capacity for big plays.

The Kansas City Chiefs offence is thriving without Tyreek Hill thanks to Patrick Mahomes, who is doing so swiftly-

The first thing to keep in mind is that even though Hill has left, Travis Kelce is still this offence’s unstoppable power, and Mahomes knows just where to go for him. There aren’t many red zone threats as potent as Kelce, so that statement is doubly true when the end zone is in view.

With eight catches for 121 yards and a touchdown, Kelce was the team’s top receiver. Hill is no longer a factor for defences to take into mind, but the tight end still presents a mismatch issue.
Kelce isn’t the only tight end Mahomes can use in the end zone, either.

Here he is demonstrating that his association with Jody Fortson can be advantageous:

Mahomes tossed five touchdown passes on the day, two to Edwards-Helaire and one each to Kelce, Mecole Hardman, Fortson, and Kelce.
New wideouts Marquez Valdes-Scantling and JuJu Smith-Schuster also contributed to his success. The first one hauled in six passes for 79 yards. This one finished with four for 44 yards.

The quarterback and those two might become more deadly the more chemistry they develop.
Mahomes will always provide some flair to the party; you can rely on that. With this sick shovel pass to Clyde Edwards-Helaire, he did that to assist in the Chiefs’ second touchdown.

Hill’s continued production of those plays is not necessary for Mahomes. Fair enough, Hill’s departure will undoubtedly be felt this season in some way. However, Mahomes has more than enough potential, and the offence can advance because of the great supporting cast that surrounds him.
