Kayla Nicole has opened up about her surprise at the headlines that resulted from her unfollowing Patrick Mahomes and Brittany on Instagram.
Travis Kelce, the tight end for the Chiefs, had a high-profile relationship with Taylor Swift, which has brought his ex-girlfriend Nicole into the public eye.

Nicole added that she thought it was “important to publicly address this because I did publicly unfollow people” in an interview with People.
“The reality is I know these people in real life. And so, in real life, I’ve communicated to these people why I’ve had to publicly make the decisions that I made,” she further continued and said.
Nicole claimed that although her romance with Kelce ended a year ago, after an intermittent five-year relationship, she still has a “ongoing relationship” with Brittany and Patrick Mahomes.
The video creator stated that Nicole and Brittany “have had our conversations” and that her friend “knows that I love her.”
“That’s a lot of history and friendship there, that doesn’t change overnight,” she said. “But publicly, because things are happening so quickly and so publicly, I have to protect myself. That’s really all that is. The love is still there.”

Early in October, social media fans noticed that Nicole had unfollowed the Chiefs quarterback and his wife when Brittany began to get friendly with Swift, to the point where they were now celebrating with a handshake.
Jackson Mahomes, Patrick’s younger brother, was also unfollowed by Nicole.
Although the former on-air sports writer expressed her desire to go on with her life, she maintained her love for the Kansas City area.
“But for me in my life, I have to move forward and everyone has to respect that,” she said. “And hopefully when they respect that, that means that they’re no longer inserting me into things that do not involve me.”
Ever since the initial rumor surfaced in September that Kelce and the pop icon were “hanging out,” their connection has been the talk of the town.
