Justin Jefferson’s Top Five QBs List: Kirk Cousins Reacts to Being Left Off

Kirk Cousins, a quarterback for the Minnesota Vikings, gave an open assessment of Justin Jefferson’s omission of him from his list of the best five quarterbacks in the NFL on Thursday.

Justin Jefferson’s Top Five QBs List: Kirk Cousins Reacts to Being Left Off

When the wide receiver recently visited Brazil as an ambassador for flag football, local reporter Danilo Lacalle quizzed him about his top five quarterbacks.

Take a look at the list below:

1. Patrick Mahomes, Chiefs

2. Aaron Rodgers, Jets

3. Joe Burrow, Bengals

4. Jalen Hurts, Eagles

5. Josh Allen, Bills

Cousins was asked how it felt to be left off the list during a recent interview on Minnesota’s KFAN-FM, but he was initially unaware of it until the hosts of the show brought it up.

“I didn’t even see it,” Cousins said. “This is the first time hearing about it.”

Vikings quarterback might have stopped there and no one would have noticed, but instead he wanted to provide a more thorough response.

“As a competitor, you’d always want that,” Cousins said of being on a top-five list. “People have to be honest and share what they think and I’m not going to tell somebody what they need to think. Hopefully in 2024, I’ll be on his list. We’ll see what we can do this year.”

Even though Cousins said in his statement that he and Jefferson had no animosity toward one another, the four-time Pro Bowler made it apparent that he would much rather be selected in the future.

Of course, for Cousins and Jefferson, the 2022 Offensive Player of the Year, the only factor that will ultimately count is how the Vikings recover from a 13-4 2022 campaign that concluded in the Wild Card playoffs.

Together, Kirk Cousins and Justin Jefferson had outstanding seasons.

Cousins guided the Vikings to 13 victories and a playoff appearance while throwing for a career-high 4,547 yards.

While topping the conference in yards per touch for the second year in a row, Jefferson contributed more than a third of those yards with 128 catches for 1,809 yards and eight touchdowns.
