Joel Embiid Sets Insane NBA Record in His 300th Career NBA Game
Joel Embiid continues his meteoric rise, claiming the lead in what we predict to be a tight race for the 2021-22 NBA Most Valuable Player award between the Sixers big man and Denver Nuggets superstar Nikola Jokic. After playing in 21 straight games, Embiid missed a highly anticipated clash against Memphis on Monday because of a scheduled rest day. Over those 21 games, Embiid averaged 33.1 points, raising his scoring average to 29.1 points, second only to Kevin Durant (29.3 points).
Joel Embiid is currently number 1 ranked in the MVP ladder last week. When the big man is on the court, the Sixers are 27-12. Embiid was rightfully named Eastern Conference Player of the Month for January, a month in which he was on fire.

Embiid averaged an NBA-best 34.0 points, 10.8 rebounds, 5.1 assists, and 1.5 blocks in 14 games in January, all while shooting 54.2 percent from the field. He recently joined Shaquille O’Neal in a unique NBA record.

Joel Embiid has accomplished a rare achievement that only one other player has accomplished by playing his 300th game tonight against the Mavs. Joel Embiid is only the second player since the NBA-ABA merger to average at least 25 points and 10 assists in his first 300 games. The Sixers center joins Shaquille O’Neal as the only two players in NBA history to achieve this feat.

During a post-game interview, Philadelphia 76ers All-Star Joel Embiid joined Inside The NBA. His performance thus far this season has left the staff quite impressed. After the Sixers’ victory over the LA Lakers, the Inside The NBA team had the opportunity to speak with Joel. On the show, he received huge praise from former NBA star Charles Barkley.
“He is learning what a superstar is,” Barkley said.
“Making guys around you better, that’s when you become a superstar.”
Joel Embiid is having one of his greatest seasons in basketball. The Cameroonian big man has had more leeway with the ball now that Ben Simmons isn’t playing for the Philadelphia 76ers. Embiid has been dominating the paint as usual, as well as appearing faster with the rock in his palm and much more comfortable shooting jumpers.
