Joe Namath Calls Out Jets Coaching Staff By Pointing Out At QB Zach Wilson’s Struggles

Zach Wilson of the New York Jets continues to struggle. Wilson lost a start in a devastating way after being put back into the starting lineup, tossing three interceptions in the second half. He’s still not doing any better a week later.

Joe Namath Calls Out Jets Coaching Staff By Pointing Out QB Zach Wilson’s Struggles

As third-year quarterback Zach Wilson laboured through a difficult first half against the New England Patriots in Sunday’s 15-10 loss, NFL icon Joe Namath questioned Gang Green’s coaching staff.

“I’m starting to wonder if Zach’s playing like he’s being coached,” Namath commented on X, previously Twitter. “He’s making decisions that aren’t natural for a quarterback.”

Wilson finished the first half 5-of-10 for 29 yards. He was sacked twice and lost 19 yards. Wilson led a fourth-quarter drive to keep the Jets in the game, but it wasn’t enough.

Wilson battled severely in his game against the Dallas Cowboys. Their defence is excellent, which made things difficult for him. The New England Patriots are now following suit. In nearly two-quarters of action, he is 4/9 for 25 yards and has been sacked twice.

He said on X: “WRONG DIRECTION ZACH! Step UP into that pocket!”

Broadway Joe was an outspoken supporter of Aaron Rodgers, who suffered an Achilles injury in the Jets’ season opener. But, following the horrific injury, Namath was ready to rally around Wilson.

After trading for Aaron Rodgers, the club thought it had a real opportunity to make some noise in the playoffs and win another Super Bowl.

Jets supporters, who are struggling with yet another deficit, are displeased with his performance. As Namath’s Twitter rage illustrates, a team with great ambitions has been reduced to this, which is aggravating fans and former players.

“Realistically, the way Rodgers left the field I don’t expect him to come back tonight,” Namath tweeted on Sept. 11 during the Jets’ opener. “So let’s stay positive. I’m glad we have Zach to come in and I’m glad he’s had the tutelage that he’s had with Aaron,” Namath wrote. “I hope he’s got his scrambling shoes on tonight!! “GO JETS!”
