Joe Burrow is growing into a press conference legend
Even if you’re not a Cincinnati Bengals fan, it’s nearly impossible not to like Joe Burrow. He’s the cool kid that everybody dreams to be, not only being a fantastic football player who revitalized the history of the Bengals but he’s also a very good guy as well – if you haven’t watched his speech after winning the Heisman Trophy, then you should. You absolutely should.
But he’s a superstar when he’s in front of a microphone as well, as he reminded us during his OTAs press conference, going from a complete range of topics, from on-field stuff regarding the contract situation of his teammates to stuff like Batman vs. Superman – and he even did a great thing by pushing for more gun control, using his platform as an NFL quarterback in the best possible way:
“With everything that’s going on, if you’re not going to outlaw everything, you’ve gotta at least make it harder to get those crazy guns that everybody’s using,” Burrow said during a press conference. “I don’t think you should be able to just walk in there and buy one. You gotta be able to go through a rigorous process to buy something like that I think.”
"We're locked in now. It's go time."

When you have quarterbacks like Deshaun Watson, which you already know what he did if you’re reading this article, players like Joe Burrow are a fresh breath of air. You might have seen a lot of sports stars talking about gun control in the U.S. after another mass shooting in an elementary school. It just feels a little bit more genuine with Burrow, because it’s not the first time that he goes out of his way to speak about social issues. If you’ve been following him, then you know it’s not going to be the last as well.
Burrow is going to Vegas with Jessie Bates for one of those trips. #Bengals

Burrow also spoke about a lot of the Bengals’ issues, such as his second contract or the franchise tag situation with Jessie Bates. But nothing was more important than Burrow, in his platform, speaking about the gun issues and making it clear that something has to change. We need more players like him.
