Joe Burrow Injured Or Not: Fans Question The QB’s Health, Rips Bengals For Concealing

Before the Cincinnati Bengals‘ trip to play the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday night, quarterback Joe Burrow was seen with what seemed to be a brace on his throwing hand.

Joe Burrow Injured Or Not: Fans Question The QB’s Health, Rips Bengals For Concealing

Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk claims that the Bengals uploaded and later removed a video of their arrival in Baltimore on Wednesday. Later, WCPO’s Caleb Noe shared a slowed-down clip of the footage that highlighted Burrow’s right hand’s brace or sleeve:

After stepping off the team bus in Baltimore, where the Bengals will play the Ravens on “Thursday Night Football” on Prime Video, Burrow was spotted wearing something wrapped over his right hand.

The 26-year-old signal caller was seen leaving the team jet in another close-up shot with an iPad in his obviously bandaged or braced right hand.

Burrow’s injuries have not been disclosed by the Bengals.

Burrow is not included on the Bengals’ injury report for Thursday’s game, which helps to explain why many were surprised to see the brace.

Fans were incensed by Burrow’s choice to conceal his status, and many vented their annoyance on social media.

“Screw the Bengals for not disclosing this on the injury report,” a commenter said. “Fine the sh*t outta them and then pay me for starting his sorry a** in fantasy”

Burrow was officially out of the game for the rest of it, but head coach Zac Taylor did not say how much longer he would be out of action.

In the third quarter, the Bengals were able to drive for a field goal thanks to the leadership of backup quarterback Jake Browning.

Two weeks ago, during the Bengals’ victory against the Buffalo Bills, Burrow’s throwing hand suffered a cut finger. His performance was unaffected, as he completed 31 of 44 passes for 348 yards and two touchdowns.

Burrow’s season has been marred by injuries; a calf issue kept him out of the preseason and almost all of training camp.

It’s impossible to identify the object for sure. Burrow seems to be throwing regularly in practice and wasn’t listed as injured this week. This might be a preventative measure, a real, serious injury, or something as trivial as a decision made for fashion or a pair of gloves that make using a tablet easier.
