Jets Star Sauce Gardner Speaks On Zach Wilson-Mike White Madden Controversy

Apparently, Sauce Gardner is a Mike White person. During a “Madden” game with NFL Tuesday Night Gaming, which bills itself as a “first of its type tournament involving your favourite gamers and NFL athletes,” the Jets star cornerback decided to utilise White under centre rather than Zach Wilson.

Jets Star Sauce Gardner Speaks On Zach Wilson-Mike White Madden Controversy

Throughout the whole 2022 season, Jets supporters regarded Zach Wilson as their number one enemy. The Jets’ Mike White took the starting job this past season after the No. 2 overall pick in 2021 was benched due to a disastrous news conference. He didn’t return to action until White suffered an injury.

During a recent NFL-sponsored “Madden” gaming session, star rookie Sauce Gardner reportedly chose to play with Mike White as the team’s quarterback rather than Zach Wilson, prompting some to speculate that Gardner chose a side in the White-Wilson conflict.

The situation was explained on “Good Morning Football” on NFL Network:

“I never subbed Zach out for Mike. When I got the controller, Mike was already in and he was throwing dots, so there was no need to take him out😂,” Gardner tweeted.

To address Gardner’s concern, “Madden” has live rosters, which means that if the game is online, the rosters are instantly changed based on changes in real-world events. Prior to Wilson at the end of the season, White was the Jets’ starting quarterback.

For what it’s worth, Wilson has a 70 overall rating in “Madden” compared to White’s 66. Wilson also has an advantage in the majority of significant rating areas, such as throwing power, speed, short accuracy, and deep accuracy. In terms of medium precision, White has the advantage.

One of the major issues of the offseason is the quarterback controversy involving the Jets. The No. 2 overall pick in 2021, Wilson, was supposed to be the quarterback of the future but has been benched twice already this year. Wilson, White, and Joe Flacco were the first three quarterbacks the team used in the game. There are already rumours circulating about the possibility of trading Aaron Rodgers or adding a seasoned quarterback like Jimmy Garoppolo or Derek Carr.
