Jets’ QB Aaron Rodgers To Face More Challenges As Their Rival Bills Sign Leonard Floyd

The pass rush for the Bills has just received a significant upgrade. According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, veteran pass rusher Leonard Floyd has agreed to a one-year contract with Buffalo.

Since moving to Los Angeles, Floyd, 30, has had three seasons in a row with nine or more sacks, aiding the Rams’ victory against the Bengals in Super Bowl LVI in 2022.

The veteran joins a stacked Bills defense that already includes Von Miller, Tre’Davious White, Ed Oliver, Matt Milano, and Jordan Poyer. He was one of the best NFL free agents still available on the market.

This is an important signing for a Bills club with Super Bowl aspirations in 2023 since Floyd will not only be a significant player off the edge but also has a history of winning championships. The 30-year-old played with the Los Angeles Rams for the previous three seasons.

At Caesars Sportsbook, Buffalo has the fourth-shortest odds to win Super Bowl LVIII this year, but the team faces a competitive AFC that has a number of elite quarterbacks, including Patrick Mahomes, Joe Burrow, and Aaron Rodgers.

In the AFC East, Aaron Rodgers must suddenly be concerned about yet another deadly edge rusher.

That’s bad news for their divisional rival Jets, whose quarterback is also facing a tight deadline.

In 2023, Rodgers, who the franchise traded in April after having spent his whole career with the Green Bay Packers, would age 40.

In addition to being a superb player for the opposing team that has won the division three years in a row, Floyd has a history of tormenting Rodgers dating back to when he played with the Bears.

Floyd recorded nine sacks in nine career contests versus Rodgers and the Packers.

At least nine sacks, 18 quarterback hits, and seven tackles for loss have all been registered by Floyd during the last three seasons.

Floyd has 338 tackles, 47.5 sacks, 103 quarterback hits, and three forced fumbles throughout the course of his career.
