Jets GM Joe Douglas Is Super Confident About Aaron Rodgers Becoming Their QB This Season
Jets general manager Joe Douglas made a firm stance as the fan base continues to call for a trade for the star quarterback as the Aaron Rodgers story drags on with no conclusion in sight.
Jets GM Joe Douglas Is Super Confident About Aaron Rodgers Becoming Their QB This Season
“He’s gonna be here,” Douglas told fans at a WFAN event in New York.
Douglas’s remark had the audience to go wild, but with the NFL season just a few weeks away, there is still no word on when the Packers and Jets deal would actually get done.

One would imagine that Green Bay would be motivated to complete a deal in the coming weeks if any trade package for Rodgers included draught compensation, maybe even draught choices this year.
It was a long journey to get here since nobody knew if Rodgers would even want to play football when the 2017 season was over. As Rodgers vacillated in his choices, it became apparent that Green Bay would like to play Jordan Love, a former first-round pick.

Rodgers informed The Pat McAfee Show that he wants to play for the Jets after considering the matter over a multi-day retreat in complete darkness. Since then, the NFL has been on trade alert for nearly a month, but no deal has been finalised as of yet.
Although Rodgers is still a Packer for the time being, anticipation of a trade is raised by Douglas’ remarks from Friday night.

Although Mark Murphy, the president and CEO of the Packers, provided the most comprehensive Rodgers update when appearing on a Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association broadcast, Douglas’ reaction was a close second.
When Murphy spoke on March 10, Green Bay seemed prepared to part ways with Rodgers and start Jordan Love, a 2020 first-round selection.

Murphy predicted that, “if things don’t work out the way that we would want them to,” Rodgers will resume his role as the team’s starting quarterback.
Douglas’ comments became the latest signal that a trade still seems like the most probable outcome, even as the first trace of another interested team — the 49ers — emerged earlier this week through reporting from WFAN’s Craig Carton.
