Jets Coach Robert Saleh Doesn’t Want To Be Included On HBO’s ‘Hard Knocks’

Next week’s mandated minicamp for the New York Jets has been postponed, and head coach Robert Saleh is hoping there won’t be any surprise guests when the club comes for training camp in late July. The cast of HBO’s “Hard Knocks,” a behind-the-scenes documentary series that follows one franchise throughout training camp, would be the guests in this scenario.

Who wouldn’t want to see what the New York Jets’ camp looks like given that Aaron Rodgers’ trade to them has unquestionably been the greatest story of the whole offseason?

However, the Jets are not interested in being mentioned on the show.

One of the four NFL clubs that could be forced to take part is the New York Jets. The other three teams are the New Orleans Saints, Cleveland Browns, and Washington Commanders. However, given that New York added four-time MVP quarterback Aaron Rodgers in the offseason, it is nearly clear that they would get the most attention.

Inquiries regarding Saleh’s potential appearance on “Hard Knocks” were made at a news conference on Friday. He made it obvious what he thought of the Jets’ bid for the contest.

“I know of several teams that would love for Hard Knocks to be in their building,” Saleh said. “We’re just not one of them.”

Saleh continued by claiming that he “hasn’t gotten word” of the league’s decision.

The Jets haven’t made the playoffs since 2010, and that year was also the last time they were mentioned on the program. Saleh is now in his third season. They may thus be left with no choice since they do not match the criteria to be excused.

They don’t require yet additional issue to cloud their offseason training.

This year, the Jets will already be scrutinized closely. After trading for the 39-year-old quarterback Aaron Rodgers, they already have high hopes for 2023, which will increase the stakes for the club.

It seems sense that Saleh would be against “Hard Knocks” for this reason as coaches who are facing the firing squad rarely enjoy having distractions around.

Rodgers declared that he showed up for each of the Jets’ ten optional OTA sessions.

“I originally planned on being back on the West Coast for at least a week to get with my body-work people and my trainers,” Rodgers said, “but when I hurt my calf, it was best that I was here the entire time rehabbing and just being around the guys.”

Rodgers stated that “every player” is grateful to Saleh for canceling the obligatory minicamp that was set to take place the following week in light of the fact that training camp would now start one week earlier than anticipated due to the Jets’ participation in the first preseason game.
