Jets CB Sauce Gardner Slams Ja Morant: ‘Everybody Have Guns, Bro!’

Last season, Sauce Gardner, who was named Defensive Rookie of the Year, established himself as one of the top defensive players in the NFL. The rising great Jets cornerback recently discussed Ja Morant, another Rookie of the Year, in an interview.

The NFL’s Defensive Rookie of the Year, Gardner, responded to Morant’s penchant for flashing weapons on Twitter. His tweet argued that since many individuals own weapons, it was unnecessary to display them during an Instagram Live.

“Everybody have guns bro,” Gardner tweeted. “No need to post it on IG live lol.”

Morant, 23, seemed to show a firearm on social media for the second time in less than three months.

He was suspended for eight games after being captured on Instagram Live brandishing a pistol on March 4 in a strip club in Denver.

Since then, Morant has been prohibited from all team activities, the Grizzlies said in a statement released on Sunday.

“We are aware of the social media video involving Ja Morant,” the Grizzlies said in a statement.

“He is suspended from all team activities pending League review. We have no further comment at this time.”

Pro athletes, you don’t need to prove you’re from the trenches every time someone is watching you, he wrote.

“A lot of y’all ain’t even like that for real and THATS FINE! All your life, you grind to go pro, make it pro & start making millions, and then turn gangsta? That’s backwards.”

Given that Americans have the freedom to possess guns under the Second Amendment, Gardner’s remark was not unreasonable. However, considering that his year has already been marred by unwanted publicity relating to weapons, Morant made a poor decision.

Gardner made the decision to delete his tweet shortly after it was sent. In response to the publication of Morant’s Instagram video showing him with a pistol, the Grizzlies suspended him on Sunday, according to a report by OutKick’s Grayson Weir.
