Jets’ Are keeping A Positive Outlook On Breece Hall’s Recovery And Aaron Rodgers’ Calf injury

The Jets anticipate not having to wait long to see running back Breece Hall back on the field.

Breece Hall, a running back for the Jets, had a promising rookie campaign cut short when he tore his ACL in Week Seven, but Wednesday has been replete with upbeat remarks about his prospects for the upcoming campaign.

At a news conference on Wednesday, head coach Robert Saleh stated that Hall has impressed him throughout the team’s summer training and that he is “very optimistic” about his prospects of being able to play in the season opener on September 11 against the Bills.

Hall is recuperating from an ACL tear in his left knee, which occurred in October.

“I don’t want to jinx it,” Saleh said. “The kid’s already hitting over 22 [mph] on the GPS. He looks freaking good.”

Hall, who turned 22 on Wednesday, declined to give a specific timeframe for his comeback but claimed he had made significant progress.

“I’ll be ready when I’ll be ready,” Hall said. “Obviously, I hope I’m ready [for Week 1], but you never know. I’m just taking it a week at a time and letting my knee do what it does.

“Everybody wants me to be ready for Week 1, but at the end of day, you have to come back when you feel ready. Until I feel like I’m ready, I’ll just know.”

Possibly the two most significant contributors to the Jets’ offense are Hall and Rodgers. Hall’s participation in training camp will be restricted, so they might not begin working together until late August, but the objective is to make sure the backfield pairing gels for the regular season rather than the preseason.

Rodgers injured his right calf while warming up for the second session on May 23. He has missed four consecutive practices since then. He minimized the damage, stating it wasn’t anything major. According to Saleh, it is hoped that he would show up for the following OTA session (this Friday).

“Yeah, he’s fine, just doing a bunch of rehab,” said Saleh, adding they’re “just hoping to ease him back in. Hopefully, [we] get him full on Friday, for sure next week.”

If Hall regains his 2022 form, Rodgers’ task will be much simpler. Before undergoing season-ending ACL surgery in October, he ran for 463 yards and a 5.8 average in seven games as a rookie.
