Jerry Jones Firmly Believes In Cowboys Caliber To Be Playing At The Super bowl

9,765 days have passed since Jerry Jones presented the Cowboys with their fifth Vince Lombardi Trophy following their victory over Pittsburgh in Arizona’s Sun Devil Stadium. The Cowboys’ 27-17 victory was their third championship under Jones, who bought the team less than seven years ago.

Since the Cowboys last fielded a Super Bowl team, it has been over 25 years. Jerry Jones, however, thinks that this team is capable of ending the title drought following Sunday’s rout of Minnesota, a team that had previously suffered just one loss.

Cowboys team owner Jerry Jones, early in his postgame remarks, said he thought the Vikings game “was going to tell us who we are.” Jerry Jones said he didn’t know if Dallas was as dominant as its clicking-on-all-cylinders blowout indicated. “But I know this: We’re not a team that doesn’t respond when it’s wounded.”

“A resounding yes. Yes. Unequivocally,” Jerry Jones said of the Cowboys being Super Bowl contenders, via ESPN. “I think we’ve had adversity. We very easily could have more adversity. … Yes, I think if we use the experience of what we’re having in the season, then we’re going to be playoff ready. But I sure do think that what I see out here right now is the team like that you could go get a Super Bowl with.”

The Cowboys have faced their fair share of difficulty this season, like many teams. One or more Cowboys players, including Dak Prescott, Ezekiel Elliott, Jourdan Lewis, Tyron Smith, James Washington, Matt Farniok, and Devin Harper, have experienced injuries this year. Prior to Thursday’s Thanksgiving game against the Giants, a number of additional players, including Defensive Player of the Year contender Micah Parsons, are presently suffering from ailments.

The victory over the Vikings moved Dallas to 7–3 on the season, two games behind NFC East leader Philadelphia, which narrowly beat the Colts on Sunday to improve to 9–1.

The Cowboys play host to the Giants (7-3) on Thanksgiving at 4:30 p.m. ET.
