Jason Kelce’s reaction to Butker’s speech further ‘angered’ his wife, Kylie Kelce
The contentious graduating address delivered by Harrison Butker keeps making news, and retired Philadelphia Eagles star Jason Kelce recently disclosed that he had a good laugh with his wife, Kylie, over it.
On May 11, the Kansas City Chiefs kicker spoke to the female attendees of Benedictine College’s commencement ceremony.
Critics have taken issue with a number of his statements, chief among them being the one in which he declared that the “most important title” for women present should be “homemaker.”

“Some of you may go on to lead successful careers in the world, but I would venture to guess that the majority of you are most excited about your marriage and the children you will bring into this world,” said Butker.
“I can tell you that my beautiful wife, Isabelle, would be the first to say her life truly started when she started living her vocation as a wife and as a mother.”
Jason finds amusement in remarks
In their conversation on their podcast, “New Heights,” Jason Kelce and his brother Travis discussed the issue, with the former Eagles star disclosing that his wife wasn’t happy with some of Butker’s remarks.

“My wife, she was, I think, a little bit frustrated with some of the comments,” 36-year-old Jason mentioned. “Initially, I said, ‘You’re going to need to go back into the kitchen and make me a sandwich. I’m listening to the game right now.'”
Travis, who had just said he was glad of the way they were talking about the issue, laughed at this.
“I hope she didn’t hear this,” said Jason.

He continued by saying that although he didn’t agree with all Butker had to say, there were certain points that he could relate to.
“I can listen to somebody talk and take great value in it, like when he’s talking about the importance of family and the importance that a great mother can make,” Jason Kelce gave an explanation.
“When you’re listening to somebody talk, you take things in that you like. You listen to other things and you say, ‘I don’t f-king like that.'”

Travis went on to say that despite having different viewpoints, football fosters collaboration and personal development.
“You put your differences aside for goal in common, and that’s the beauty of team sports,” Added the Chiefs tight end.
“I’m just going to go back to my beliefs through my family and how I was brought into this world, and my views are never going to be the same as the man next to me.”
