Jalen Hurts Slams Eagles For Not Being ‘Committed’ After Loss To Seahawks

The Seattle Seahawks’ backup quarterback, Drew Lock, drove 92 yards for the game-winning touchdown in the last minute, causing the Philadelphia Eagles to falter and lose their third consecutive game as the reigning NFC champions. This resulted in Jalen Hurts questioning his teammate’s commitment.

Jalen Hurts Slams Eagles For Not Being ‘Committed’ After Loss To Seahawks

Jalen Hurts, who was quiet after the offence was kept to fewer than 20 points for the third straight game, blamed the team’s general lack of dedication and execution after the team lost 20–17.

“I’ve been talking about execution all year, being on the same page, everyone being on the same page,” he said following Monday’s loss. “We didn’t execute. I don’t think we’re, we’re all, we’re committed enough. Just got to turn it around. You know, it’s a challenge that we have to embrace. Just continue to see it through.”

Asked what he meant by not being committed, Hurts responded: “Commitment. I don’t have a dictionary on me now. … I don’t know how else to say that.”

Hurts made a somewhat strange choice with this. Right now, his remarks on commitment are all over X. He gave the sports media something to discuss this week, for sure.

A player should provide more information if he is going to openly criticize the level of commitment from his teammates. It is impossible for an athlete to assert something and then fail to offer further details and context.

You can very much count on me to bring receipts if I accuse a coworker of lacking commitment.

Though he only threw for 143 yards and was intercepted twice, including on Philadelphia’s final offensive play with the game still very much in question, he ran for two touchdowns and a team-high 82 yards.

For the time being at least, the Eagles’ loss lost them first position in the NFC East. Regardless of what happens with the Dallas Cowboys, Philadelphia can still win the division by winning its remaining games, which include two against the lowly New York Giants and one against the Arizona Cardinals.

What makes Jalen Hurts a talented player?

His commitment to the game and his work ethic play a part in it, but so does the impact his parents, siblings, and grandparents had on him as a child. Hurts’s leadership philosophies center on precedent-setting and attitude. Hurts asserted, “Attitude reflects leadership.”

Why did the Eagles lose to the Seahawks?

When it counted most, the Eagles, led by senior defensive assistant Matt Patricia (Desai is still the defensive coordinator), were unable to stop the Seahawks. In the same way that they were unable to in the two games prior when Desai called the plays.
