Jake Knapp’s Girlfriend Responds To His Dramatic First PGA Tour Victory

At the Mexico Open on Sunday, Jake Knapp’s maiden PGA Tour triumph included a “dramatic” finish.

Makena White, the rookie on the PGA Tour, watched in expectation as he attempted to finish the par-5 18th hole at Vidanta Vallarta.

White told tournament staff, “This would be so sweet,” as seen in video that the Tour was able to obtain.

The 29-year-old Knapp then tucked his birdie putt up just past the hole and tapped in for the win.

White said, “So dramatic,” just before the Californian nailed his shot.

She then walked over to the green with Knapp, and they shared a kiss to end the ultimate moment.

Before the last round, Knapp had a four-stroke lead, but he struggled most of the day as Sami Valimaki caught up to him.

The two, who were each vying for their first victory on the PGA Tour, battled back and forth until Knapp grabbed command in the closing few holes.

When Valimaki hit his tee shot out of bounds on the last hole, it effectively sealed Knapp’s victory and relieved a lot of pressure from him.

Following his first career victory, Knapp remarked, “Twenty-nine years old and first win there are a lot of people who helped me along my way.”

Among them is White, who traveled from Canada for Sunday’s final round, in which Knapp shot an even-par 71 to finish.

As per the NBC program, the couple has been dating for a duration of six months.

“Even though I didn’t have my best stuff (Sunday), kind of doing it for (my grandfather) and everybody else who has been a part of my team and my family and everything for so long,” Speaking of his grandfather Gordon Bowles, who departed in the spring, Knapp stated.

“Keeping them in the back of my mind and just no quit, no surrender and just grind it out.”
