Israel Adesanya Plans to Channel Anderson Silva From UFC 101 in His Upcoming Fight Against Jared Cannonier
UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya spoke out on his YouTube channel and shared an exciting overview of his upcoming fight against Jared Cannonier. ‘The Last Stylebender’ will go head-to-head against Cannonier, who recently edged past Derek Brunson to claim his spot as the next deserving contender.
Israel Adesanya has bested several top opponents, most recently defeating Marvin Vettori and former champion Robert Whittaker. While some fans believe Robert Whittaker did enough to secure the victory, Adesanya was ultimately the victor, and he’s now extending his domination over the current class of 185-pounders.

‘The Last Stylebender’ made a bold prediction about how his upcoming fight against Jared Cannonier will go down. Adesanya harkened back to one of the most dominant title fight performances ever seen inside the UFC’s cage.
Back at UFC 101, the then middleweight champion Anderson Silva dismantled Forrest Griffin in what is looked at as his highlight-reel performance. ‘The Spider’ appeared to be invincible inside the cage and Forrest Griffin could barely get a hold of the champion.

Adesanya clearly believes that he’s going to walk over Cannonier and make the fight look like a one-sided affair. Silva ultimately defeated Forrest Griffin after a series of perfectly placed punches and it’s evident that Adesanya has a similar game plan.
However, pulling off such a feat is easier said than done, especially considering how Jared Cannonier has been looking as of late. Barring a rather flat performance against Robert Whittaker, Cannonier has been the man to beat inside the cage.
With an expansive reach, and an ability to utilize his power to the fullest, ‘Killa Gorilla’ has the ability to turn off the lights on Adesanya. It appears as though an elusive approach against Cannonier might be the way to go when both men finally face off against each other.
