Isabella Strahan, daughter of Michael Strahan, opens up about challenges in cancer treatment
The daughter of “Good Morning America” co-anchor Michael Strahan, Isabella Strahan, has faced many obstacles in her continuous fight against brain cancer. The 19-year-old model and University of Southern California student posted an emotional update on her YouTube vlog, disclosing that she had a fever and had just had her third craniotomy.

Isabella described the extreme pain and discomfort she felt during the treatment in her vlog. “It’s not as bad as the first time but I’m really in pain,” she said, clearly upset, to her fans. She said that although she was given pain medicine, it wasn’t very helpful: “They don’t work that well on me.” So I’m in a lot of pain.”
Isabella recounted how her most recent hospital stay began with an IV of antibiotics, which was followed by an MRI that revealed the need for a “little procedure.” While she was awake, the physicians used a needle to remove extra fluid from three different spots on her head; she described the treatment as excruciatingly painful.
The surgery was not the end of the complications. After having a craniotomy, Isabella claimed to have felt better at first, but she also acknowledged that she occasionally suffered from despair. These episodes were made worse by her inability to eat and the physical changes she was going through, such as losing her eyelashes and eyebrows.

She was released from the hospital after a week-long stay, but she had to be readmitted very soon because of dyspnea. Isabella makes an effort to keep a happy attitude in spite of these obstacles. She disclosed that she had to postpone her recuperation schedule by one month due to her chemotherapy treatments. Trying not to lose hope, she said, “I’ll be done a little later than I wanted to, but oh well.”
Isabella Strahan’s terrifying experience receiving treatment for brain cancer
Following her diagnosis in January, when she and her father revealed her ailment, Isabella’s path has been made public. Ever since, she’s frozen her eggs, a decision she chose to protect her future options, and she has launched a vlog where she shares her experiences, including private times.

Despite the difficulties, Isabella highlights in her vlog the value of taking each day as it comes. “I’m very excited for this whole process to wrap,” she said back in January, “but you just have to keep living every day, I think, through the whole thing.”
