Is Julian Edelman Dating Jerry Rice’s Daughter Jaqui? Know The Reaction of Jerry to their Relationship

Julian Edelman, a former New England Patriots receiver, had way too much fun at Jerry Rice’s house when the legendary 49ers player wasn’t there.

Edelman described courting Rice’s daughter Jaqui in high school and sneaking into Rice’s office at their home during a recent episode of the “New Heights” podcast with Jason and Travis Kelce.

“She took me to her prom. I did wear those Super Bowl rings. Sorry Jer,” Edelman said. “I used to go in his office all the time. He was never home. So, I’d be over there playing with Super Bowl balls. I saw jerseys.”

Edelman, who retired with the Patriots following the 2020 season and three Super Bowl rings to his name, elucidated why Rice, who served as his childhood hero, was so terrifying.

“It was crazy,” he said. “Jerry Rice, bro. I was a Bay Area kid. He was a f–king legend. It was so crazy, and they had such a cool house. Man.

“The first time I met him, the dude came out yoked up, six-packed up with his chain on, dreads that are starting back here,” Edelman said, pointing to the back of his head. “He was old Jerry by then. Oakland Jerry. He intimidated the f–k out of me. Which I understand, I have a daughter. I’m a father of one.”

Lilly, the couple’s first child, was born to Edelman and Swedish model Ella Rose in 2016. It’s not thought that they are dating right now.

In 2019, Jaqui claimed to TMZ that Edelman “wasn’t always the nicest” to Rice.

“I guess that’s understandable because he’s my dad, you know?” she said.

“I think [Julian] was a little intimidated by my dad growing up.”

Jaqui, the CEO of her father’s energy drink company Goat Fuel, revealed that she and Edelman were childhood friends.“This goes a while back,” she said. “I’ve known Julian since we were kids. He played Pop Warner football, I was a Pop Warner cheerleader.”
Jaqui said that despite not attending the same high school, she and Edelman went to a number of other school dances together. Now that is all over and under the bridge.

It was revealed by Edelman on the “No Chill with Gilbert Arenas” podcast that he remains close to Rice and his family.“The family was awesome,” he said. “They were all cool, and still friends of this day.“When I got to the league afterwards, we developed a relationship. It became cool. I still see him at the [Kentucky] Derby here and there. I see him out and about, and he’s been real cool as of late.”

In 2017, Rice and Edelman went to the Kentucky Derby together. The former Pro Bowl wide receiver also admitted to Arenas that he was “terrified” of Rice at first.“I remember the first time I came over and Jerry came out with his chain on — no shirt, six packed up — and just gave me a head nod,” he said. “And that was like the last time we talked in like two years. It was scary.

During his 12-year NFL career with New England, Edelman won three Super Bowls, matching Rice’s total. His career-ending receiving yardage of 6,822 was far less than Rice’s 22,895 yards.
The record for the most receiving yards, receptions, and touchdowns in a career still belongs to Rice.
