According to police records, on June 4, cops sped to Montgomery’s recently purchased Grosse Pointe Shores property in response to a worrying call. Lola, the couple’s pit bull mix, is accused of breaking out of the house and attacking a smaller dog on the pavement.

Tatum Causey, Montgomery’s girlfriend, described the encounter to the officers in a telling police body camera video. She claimed that she discovered Lola had escaped in some way while she was in the backyard. She stated, “I go inside, literally opened the door and I said, ‘Anybody see Lola?'” after becoming distraught over the circumstance. One of the complainants bemoaned, “I heard our dog’s leg break,” in the official records. Due to the tragic event, their dog was found to have two leg fractures and required stitches.
