Is Angel Reese Using Her NIL Money in the Right Way? Know Her Luxurious Expenses

Angel Reese, a top basketball player for LSU, didn’t always cash huge NIL checks.

The All-American forward recently admitted to Overtime that she “didn’t spend” her first NIL cheque, which had a NIL valuation of $1.6 million as of June.

“I saved it because it wasn’t much,” Reese said and laughed. “My first one was not much.”

She withheld information regarding the deal’s terms.

Reese now has six-figure NIL deals with firms in the beauty, fashion, sports, fitness, and lifestyle industries.

“I’ve done a lot of shopping lately,” Reese said. “I bought a couple designer bags.

“Luckily, I just did a deal [with Benz] — I just got a Benz,” She mentioned her black Mercedes-Benz, which she had received as a birthday gift for turning 21 in May.

“It’s cool because, one, you really don’t see black women doing a lot of deals, especially with a lot of these brands — so, just to see me being an example for a lot of young girls that look like me, and just giving them a point just to know that they can do it.”

Reese also mentioned that she enjoys napping, traveling, and everything TikTok-related in her spare time.

Reese has 17 NIL relationships with companies like McDonald’s, Xfinity, Wingstop, and backpack manufacturer JanSport as of March 2023.

Reese’s most recent agreements with Sports Illustrated, Mercedes Benz, and ZOA Energy—the energy drink company owned by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson—have recently led to an increase in that figure.

Although the junior All-American has made a career out of being vocal and shamelessly herself, Reese admitted that, at the age of 21, she never imagined herself in this situation.

“I didn’t think I would be here right now,” Reese told Overtime in a separate video. “This is crazy.

“I think my transfer to LSU has helped me a lot. I’ve matured and grown a lot, so I think that was the biggest jump for me within a year.”

Angel Reese moved from Maryland to LSU in May 2022; Randallstown, where she was born and raised, was roughly a 45-minute drive away.

Reese was the most highly regarded player in the 2022 transfer portal after two seasons at Maryland.

Reese has stated that she is “in no rush” to graduate from college even if she is eligible for the 2024 WNBA Draft.

“The money I’m making is more than some of the people that are in [the WNBA] that might be top players,” Reese said on the “I Am Athlete” podcast.
