Internet frenzy: Identified as Madison Sheppard, sister of Reed Sheppard, the saddened Kentucky girl stirred curiosity

During Kentucky’s humbling (hilarious) loss to Oakland late Thursday, a star was created in a true, unequaled, American ritual unlike any other in this world.

One spectator was seen in the stands looking really miserable when Jack Gohlke was stuffing the Wildcats into a locker and watching them melt down. And to make matters worse, she was alone.

When you connect the dots, you’ll soon have a new viral sensation that the internet will adore.

The sister of Reed Sheppard, Madison Sheppard, was recognized as the viral Kentucky fan.

Because America is nothing if not bored and horny on Twitter, the little dejected face went viral online.

Fortunately, we also have some astute Patriots here as well, and they were able to identify this dejected Kentucky supporter as Madison Sheppard Wigginton, the sister of Reed Sheppard, the rookie guard from Kentucky.

She played four years of basketball at Campbellsville University, and I can assure you that she was an outstanding student in her own right. According to Google, she ended up with 344 points over three seasons, along with 74 assists and 74 steals.

Alright, perhaps hardly Caitlin Clark levels, but it was still a respectable short career with the Tigers.

All the same, welcome to Kentucky Madison, a really distinguished club. You’ve entered the annals of history, joining the likes of luminaries such as the OG Katherine Webb, JJ McCarthy’s fiancée, Masters Girl, depressed Ohio State girl, and depressed Tulane girl.

That is an incredibly long list, and I have a suspicion that others will continue to add to it online this weekend.
