INSANE: An Ex-Knicks Player Has Always Made it to the NBA Finals Since 1947

The New York Knicks were created in 1946 as part of the newly formed Basketball Association of America, which later became the National Basketball Association in 1949. The Knicks had winning records in each of its first nine seasons, and they reached the NBA finals three times (1951–53), but each time they lost.

The Knicks have gone on to win the championship twice since their establishment. However, their season ended on March 31 as they were knocked out of playoff contention. Despite this, owing to the outcome of the Eastern Conference finals, the organization’s incredible streak is still alive.

It appears that the Knicks have an NBA Finals DNA in them as a unique streak continued this season as well. The Knicks have been around for 75 years as one of the original clubs in the Basketball Association of America. Despite making eight NBA Finals trips and winning two titles, they were somehow involved in every Finals from 1947 to 2021.

Boston Celtics’ sole player who had previously played in New York was Luke Kornet. The Celtics were on the verge of handing the Heat a 3-2 series lead in the Eastern Conference finals, but they won Game 7 in Miami on Sunday, sending another former Knick to the Finals.

The Famous Shaq Streak is well known, therefore I won’t have to explain it to you. Every NBA Finals since 1984 has had a player who was Shaquille O’Neal’s teammate at some point. It ended in the 2020 Finals. Similarly, the Knicks have also been represented in the NBA Finals every year since 1947. Incredible, isn’t it? The Knicks should now be thankful to the Celtics for continuing the streak, despite being fierce rivals.
