“I’ll Take His Head and Take the Money”- Khamzat Chimaev Says Fight Against ‘Skinny Boy’ Nate Diaz ‘Never Been Close’
Nate Diaz is on the last fight of his UFC contract. Diaz is one of the biggest stars in the UFC by far and has not competed in the UFC ever since his loss against Leon Edwards in June 2021 despite wanting a fight desperately. The younger Diaz brother has spoken out publicly against the promotion multiple times, accusing them of keeping him on the sidelines intentionally.
At first, the UFC wanted to match up Nate Diaz against up-and-coming star Khamzat Chimaev. But the younger Diaz brother quickly shut down the idea, stating that he only wanted to fight ‘real fighter’. Diaz came around on the idea of a fight with Chimaev after he realized he was not getting any of the fights he wanted. He said, “I been tryin to fight for a year and months I also tried to fight kamzat for the last month and a half but he was hurt, had visa issues, overweight and now his bitcha** is off getting married instead of fighting wtf ? I’m tryin to get a fight wit a real fighter asap/July.”
Khamzat Chimaev open to take on Nate Diaz
In a recent interview with Blockasset, Chimaev shared his thoughts on Nate Diaz and a potential fight between the two. He said, “No, it’s never been close [to a done deal]. The skinny boy, when I said let’s fight, I was good weight, good shape, and now I’ve been lifting weights, I go up like three kilos. Now he says let’s fight. He was thinking, is August too early to cut weight? I don’t care, I’m going to cut my weight and fight with him if he’s ready. I’ll smash that boy. He won’t be the same Diaz anymore.”
‘Borz’ continued, “The Diaz fight is good for us, but skinny boy is scared, and he didn’t answer. We will see. Belal [Muhammad] said yes. I don’t care. I’ll fight everyone. Let Leon [Edwards] fight with [Kamaru] Usman, who wins there, I’ll go for his head. I’ll take his head and take the money.I can take [Nate Diaz’s] brother as well, [Nick Diaz]. I’ll take his f****** brother and we can smash him, too.”
