“If I Was Like a Manager to Him…”- Joe Rogan Has Some Advice for Conor McGregor
UFC commentator and notable podcaster Joe Rogan appeared on Mike Tyson’s ‘Hot Boxin’ podcast, where both men talked about the fight game. Chiefly, Mike Tyson has appeared on Joe Rogan’s podcast on multiple occasions and the long-time UFC commentator recently returned the favor.
Both men have solid chemistry with each other and it’s a treat for fight fans to hear them break down the big names in the sport. One marquee fighter who is often talked about is Conor McGregor and the Irishman was mentioned on the latest iteration of the ‘Hot Boxin’ podcast.
Joe Rogan knows what’s best for Conor McGregor
Joe Rogan was asked about what was next for ‘Notorious’ and Rogan decided to put himself in the shoes of Conor McGregor’s manager while answering that question. He explained that McGregor was returning from a long lay-off and it would benefit him to take a fight against a non-championship level opponent.
Rogan mentioned how Conor McGregor made a giant splash when he faced off against Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone back in January 2020 as his return fight. The Irishman dispatched Cerrone in merely 40 seconds and reminded fight fans that he was still a force to be reckoned with.
“If I was like a manager to him and like what is the best path to success is like the ‘Cowboy’ fight. No disrespect to ‘Cowboy’ but that fight turned out to be like a warm-up fight. Conor is a ferocious striker and he took ‘Cowboy’ out in the first round.”
“If Conor wants the most chance at success, I’d say fight a guy who is little below championship level. A guy on the come-up. A guy who Conor has an advantage over but it’s still q competitive fight. Give him a test but don’t put him in there right away with Usman.”

Conor McGregor has suffered some major setbacks in recent years, and it is paramount that he makes an emphatic return to action. Another loss could derail his place in the lightweight division, making title contention all but impossible going forward.
