Iconic NFL Announcer Al Michaels To Retire? Roasted By NFL Fans
NFL fans have not been impressed by Thursday Night Football thus far in the 2022 season. With iconic announcer Al Michaels in the booth, these games are now only available on Amazon Prime. AI Michaels, who has presided over some of the most important NFL games in history, might be considering retiring.
Al Michaels On The Game Being A “Grim”
These games on Thursday night, according to AI Michaels, have been difficult to watch, he stated in an interview with Waddle & Silvy on ESPN radio in Chicago.
“If we don’t have a better game than we had last Thursday, then I may retire. I’ve done pretty close to 800 NFL games, and with all due respect, guys are trying. I understand and we all know that, but that was grim.

It is awful for someone of Michaels’ status to criticize the performances we have thus far witnessed on Amazon Prime. After calling games for Sunday Night Football since its beginning in 2006, the legendary announcer retired this year.
AI Michaels worked on Monday Night Football for ABC from 1986 to 2005 before joining NBC. He has called the most Super Bowls of any announcer with 11 calls. Given the recent two NFL games broadcast in the Thursday night primetime slot, Al Michaels could have a point.
Al Michaels is just going to show up unannounced in the Sunday Night booth next week and pretend nothing happened.

The Indianapolis Colts and Denver Broncos last week gave us one of the ugliest NFL games in recent memory.
The internet begged for a different game when the first half ended with a score of 6-3. In the pointless overtime, there were 12 punts and no touchdowns.
The only good part of these Amazon TNF broadcasts is hearing Al Michaels slowly lose his will to live.

Both Colts quarterback Matt Ryan and Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson threw two interceptions in the game, which was decided by a failed Broncos fourth-down convert at the Indianapolis 5-yard line in overtime.
This pushed AI Michaels to say the unsaid. It’s tough to blame him.

“I wish Al Michaels a happy retirement. (Let’s see how well this ages.),” one fan wrote.
“OK Carson Wentz, don’t make Al Michaels retire,” another fan added.
Al Michaels is my hero. He makes 16 million dollars a year to talk shit about bad football teams on air. 😂

“Al Michaels was once traded to NBC for a cartoon rabbit, but Colts-Broncos last week is the first thing to make him question his career,” another fan joked.
