“I Was Kind of Hoping There Might Some News”- A Disappointed Aaron Rodgers Speaks on His Team’s Inactivity During the off Season

November 1st was the trade deadline for the 2022 NFL season. The 2022 deadline day will go down in history given the number of trades that took place. A record-setting 11 trades took place on the day, making it the busiest NFL deadline day. Not only did a huge number of trades take place, a few marquee signings also featured. While a lot of teams did bolster their squad, the Green Bay Packers led by Aaron Rodgers did not make a single signing.

In a recent episode of the Pat McAfee show, Aaron Rodgers shared his thoughts on his franchise’s decision to not sign any players on deadline day, especially wide receivers. He said, “The trade deadline has really become an interesting thing I think earlier in my career there wasn’t a whole lot of movement ever at the break I agreed there wasn’t big names going you know you weren’t seeing uh you know starters pro bowlers All-Pro guys switch teams uh as frequently or anyway I mean just it just never really happened it was so rare it was almost like whoa who got traded?”

Rodgers continued, “I was kind of hoping there might be uh you know some news during this show that we could break uh in a lifetime that would be pretty cool I have had conversation with Brian uh you know the past few weeks I’m not sure what’s going to happen but uh but I know that we’ve uh you know I’m not surprised to hear that maybe we were in on the on the Claypool and then we’ll see what happens.”

Aaron Rodgers and the Packers are struggling so far in 2022

The 2022 season did not start off well for Rodgers and his team as they succumbed to a loss against the Minnesota Vikings. However, after the loss, the Packers turned things around and secured three wins on the trot.

Unfortunately, at this point in time, the Packers are on a four-game skid. The majority of that is down to their inability to points on the board. In their last four games, the Packers have scored more than 20-points only on two occasions.
