“I Think They’re Overdoing It,” Said Travis Kelce On NFL Covering Taylor Swift During The Whole Match
The NFL’s constant coverage of Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift is taking a hit because of him.
Sure, the high ratings, the boost in jersey sales, the puns, the lyric references, and the “are they or aren’t they dating?” panic were somewhat nice at first, but as I noted just three days into the whole charade weeks ago, it has gone from adorable to an eye roll to just annoying.
I’m not claiming I told you so, but Jason and Travis Kelce now concur because I did.
“Take away your feelings for Taylor, what is your honest opinion on how the NFL is treating celebrities at games,” On their podcast, New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce, Jason Kelce posed the question to his TMZ-favorite brother.
“I think it’s fun whose at the game. I think it brings a little bit more to the atmosphere, to what you’re watching but at the same time I think they’re overdoing it for sure… ESPECIALLY MY SITUATION,” Travis responded.

It’s really intriguing that Travis added, “Especially my situation,” when talking about him and Taylor. That gives me the impression that they are not dating and are instead taking advantage of the league, networks, Swifties, and yes, all of you sports fans. Apparently, quiet may convey a lot. It certainly appears quite obvious what might be going on based on Kelce’s tone and lack of concern.
When I first wrote my article, I predicated it on the simple reality that Hollywood and the media ALWAYS destroy things. I was right when I predicted that the NFL and broadcast networks would overdo the Taylor and Travis, dubbed “Traylor.” The moment anything is perceived as amusing or interesting, it is overused, it is spun out, and all of a sudden there are ten Scream movies even if the original’s cool premise was just one.

Jason and Travis continued to discuss the NFL and how the networks struggle when famous people attend games on their podcasts. Jason contrasted the NFL’s response to the NBA’s, which is accustomed to having well-known celebrities play on its courts. Drake, Jay-Z, Jack Nicholson, and Spike Lee will all be included in one or two camera shots, but they won’t be shown during every commercial break like NBC did with Taylor Swift.
