“I May Start Painting My Nail and Act Like a Female”- Sean Strickland on What He Would Do Differently as a Champion

Sean Strickland arguably was the highlight of the pre-fight press conference for UFC 276. ‘Tarzan’ is known for being a fighter with no filter, which has more often than not done him a disservice. This was the first time Strickland had been a part of a public press conference of this size and he admitted he was nervous for the same and was not sure what he would spew out.

As it turns out, most of his trash talk was focused on middleweight champion Israel Adesanya, who he has called out on multiple occasions for je**ing off to cartoons. In the press conference, among the many things he said, he promised to be a better champion than anyone else. He said, “You gonna get a different guy. I may start painting my nail and act like a female. I’ll be wearing sunglasses inside, you know what I’m saying? It’s gonna be different. I’m gonna go making suits, I’m making me a nice car. I’m gonna trade my 2018 Nissan Frontier, get me a Porsche. Just f***ing wait. I’m gonna leave all of you guys behind. I’m going to be the best champion you’ve ever seen!”

He went on to state that Alex Pereira is the better striker since he has two wins over Israel Adesanya and has also knocked him out cold in the rematch, which did not sit well with the champion.

Sean Strickland on a collision course with Israel Adesanya?

The situation at middleweight is pretty clear. The winner of the fight between ‘Tarzan’ and ‘Poatan’ will take on Adesanya if he is able to secure a win over Canonnier. The common consensus is that Strickland will have to resort to his wrestling to secure a win over Pereira, who is the superior striker.

Strickland, being the wild card that he is, has stated that he will not use his wrestling and will stand and strike with ‘Poatan’. It will be interesting to see how this fight plays out. For Adesanya, both fighters present a good stroy line and could potentially be a big fight for him.
