“I Knew Russell Was a Clown but I Didn’t Think He Was Delusional”- Fans Unleash on Russell Wilson After His Recent Statements Ahead of Chargers Game

The 2022 season has been one with a lot of change for the Denver Broncos faithful. To start the season, the Broncos made a marquee signing that not many saw coming. The team swept up Super Bowl-winning quarterback Russell Wilson from the Seattle Seahawks and offered him a whopping five-year $245 million contract. Unfortunately for Wilson and the Broncos, things have not been playing out the way they would have liked.

Wilson is having arguably his worst season in the NFL since he joined the league. After the first five games of the season, Wilson has 1,254 passing yards (14th in the league), 4 touchdowns (tied 23rd), and a quarterback rating of 36.4 which is abysmal to say the least.

Fans react to Russell Wilson and his recent statements

Unfortunately for Wilson, things do not seem to be getting better with the statements he is making in public, which has fans doubting their faith in him. In one such interview Russell Wilson said, “[There’s] a lot of season left, a lot of season left—a lot of greatness in store. I’ve done it before and I’m going to do it again.” Fans did not react well to Wilson’s optimism. Here are some of the best reactions to the same.

One fan said, “My main issue with Russ is it seems he never actually answers the questions, more so just gives a little motivational pep talk. That’s fine and all, but it would be nice to hear him keep it real.”

Another fan added, “Oooff. Another non-answer with a lot of me not we.”

“Of course he didn’t answer the question.”- voiced another angry fan

“I knew Russell was a clown but I didnt think he was delusional.”- Said another fan.

“Sounds like an egomaniac. Can’t change what you don’t acknowledge.”- added another fan

Things are looking bleak for the Broncos right now. Maybe it is a transition period that will take time or maybe Russell Wilson is done as an elite quarterback. At this point in time, it is too soon to tell, but time is quickly running out for both the Broncos and Wilson so results will have to start coming in.
