“I Haven’t Heard Anything From Anyone in the Last 2 Months”- Dustin Poirier Provides a Disheartening Update on His Fight With Nate Diaz
Dustin Poirier has been in the UFC for over a decade now. In that time, ‘The Diamond’ has competed in two weight classes in the UFC. Poirier did not have much success at featherweight as he depleted his body severely in order to make the 145-pound limit. However, at 155-pounds Poirier established himself as one of the very best in no time.
Unfortunately for Poirier, he fell short in achieving his ultimate dream in the sport twice at lightweight now. At UFC 242, ‘The Diamond’ was choked out by ‘The Eagle’ Khabib Nurmagomedov. More recently, at UFC 269, Poirier came up short against Charles Oliveira, a fight that many believed he would easily win. After the fight, a dejected Poirier admitted that he needed a change and would try fighting at welterweight next.
Over the past few months, Poirier has been trying to secure a fight against Nate Diaz. The Stockton native has obliged to the call out and expressed his interest in fighting Poirier as well. The UFC has not displayed the same level of urgency in getting the fight booked to the dismay of fans.
I don't know what's going on. I haven't heard anything from anyone in the last 2 months. https://t.co/Di93WImuj3

In a recent Twitter exchange with a fan, Poirier shared rather disheartening news for fans expecting a fight announcement. The fan asked, “A fan’s questions – Are you gonna fight @NateDiaz209?Is @ufc serious about moving on from this discussion?” Poirier replied saying, “I don’t know what’s going on. I haven’t heard anything from anyone in the last 2 months.”
Is Conor McGregor the reason why the UFC has not booked a fight between Dustin Poirier and Nate Diaz?
Nate Diaz is on the last fight of his UFC contract. The younger Diaz brother has been asking for a fight for over half a year now but the UFC has not got it done although both he and Poirier are willing and able to fight.
It appears as though the UFC is waiting for Conor McGregor to heal up so that they can book a fight against Nate Diaz before he runs out of his contract. Do you think this is a possibility? Let us know in the comments below!
