“I Have Less Than 0 Interest in Seeing That Again”- Dana White on Conor McGregor vs Floyd Mayweather 2

Conor McGregor is set to return to action later this year. After being on the sidelines for a year, ‘The Notorious’ is inching ever so close to being fully fit again. This means that a super fight is on the horizon as any fight involving Conor McGregor brings in million of PPVs.

‘The Notorious’ is currently under contract with the UFC. However, he is often getting offers and callouts from boxers for mega paydays. None, however, match the size of the purse and the magnitude of the event if Conor McGregor decides to take on Floyd Mayweather in a rematch. In the past week, there have been a lot of rumors suggesting that behind the scenes, ‘The Notorious’ and ‘Money’ were working on a rematch. Unfortunately, there are no concrete updates on the same.

In a recent interview, UFC President Dana White shared his thoughts on a potential rematch between two of the biggest names in combat sports history. He said, “That is definitely just people talking. I have less than 0 interest in seeing that again. I have no idea, I did not even know that (Conor teasing a rematch against Mayweather) I haven’t seen it.”

When asked if a fight against Chandler for ‘The Notorious’ still makes sense White said, “Yeah, I like that fight.”

Will Conor McGregor vs Floyd Mayweather 2 have the same success as the first match?

Historically, from a financial and commercial point of view, a rematch has more often than not done better than the original fight. Given that a rematch was booked because the first fight was competitive. However, in the case of Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor, this might not be the case.

Conor McGregor

At the time of the first fight, Conor McGregor was on top of his game and looked invincible. Mayweather on the other hand had just recently retired from the sport and there was an intrigue about the fight. Today, Conor McGregor has not won just one fight in the last four years. He is also coming off a serious injury which does nothing to help promote the fight.
