“I Got Eight Championship Belts at Home”- Daniel Cormier Hits Back at Sean O’Malley’s for His Recent Comments Involving Jon Jones
Sean O’Malley is on the right trajectory for superstardom in the UFC. ‘Sugar’ entered the UFC with a lot of hype around him after his performances on Dana White’s Contender Series. Since then, O’Malley has put on flawless performances minus his loss to Chito Vera.
Ever since he joined the promotion, O’Malley has stood out in the way he promotes himself and the way he gives his take on things. The Arizona native is not afraid to speak his mind and recently shared his thoughts on former champion turned commentator Daniel Cormier. He stated that he believes Cormier wants to see him lose as O’Malley believes Jon Jones is the greatest of all time, which does not sit well with Cormier.
Daniel Cormier hits back at Sean O’Malley
In the most recent episode of DC and RC, Cormier hit back at O’Malley’s insinuations. He said, “It doesn’t really make me feel anything because the reality is like you said Ryan, my accomplishments are all on my own. I don’t care enough about Sean O’Malley to care if he wins or loses because like you said, it doesn’t really affect me. I like the kid, I think the kid’s a fantastic little fighter, I think he’s tough. But the reality is, I got eight championship belts at home. I got eight championship belts at home, Ryan Clark.”
‘DC’ continued, “It’s crazy when we mistake popularity for putting you on the level with someone else. The reality is I don’t care if Sean wins or if he loses. I don’t want to see a man lose. I think that he’s good for the sport. I think him winning does things for the sport. But I do believe that he uses this to serve as a bit of motivation, right? Everybody always goes; you need haters in order to propel you forward. So I think he’s trying to make me that but the reality is I don’t really care all that much because again, I have so many championships at home.”
