“I Don’t Have Good Hair”- Henry Cejudo Uses Georges St-Pierre Example to Throw Shade at the UFC and Dana White for Their Double Standards

In the UFC, there have been multiple instances where fighters have come out of retirement to compete once again. However, there has only been one instance in UFC history where a fighter who was away for a significant period of time returned to the promotion and got an immediate title shot. Georges St-Pierre retired in November 2013 after a successful title defense against Johny Hendricks. He came back four years later to challenge for the middleweight belt. Henry Cejudo is aiming to do just that.

After an impressive stoppage win over Dominick Cruz at UFC 249, ‘Triple C’ announced that he would be retiring from the sport at the peak of his abilities. Two years on, the former two-division champion is raring for a spectacular return. Ideally, Cejudo would like to fight for the bantamweight belt right away but it is clear that Dana White and the UFC will not allow him to do so.

In a recent interview, Cejudo threw shade at White and the UFC for their double standards. He said, “No, I’m going after that featherweight title. Like getting the bantamweight title, that’s just, that’s that stepping stone that I get up to what I would, what I really want. So that’s the way I see it.”

‘Triple C’ continued, “Give me Volkanovski for what I’ve done, you know. But they’re not going to give him to me, man, like I’m not GSP, you know what I am saying? I don’t have good hair, I don’t know what the hell it is.”

Will we see Henry Cejudo compete in 2022?

The self-anointed ‘King of Cringe’ is currently undergoing a six-month testing period where he will be tested regularly by the USADA. If he is able to successfully clear the tests he will be allowed to fight.

Henry Cejudo

Given that Cejudo re-entered the testing pool in April, he will be eligible to fight towards the end of October. Unfortunately for Cejudo, by that point, the UFC will have already booked their fights for the remainder of the year. And since Cejudo has stated that he will not accept any last-minute flights, fans might have to wait till 2023 to see ‘Triple C’ back in action in the UFC octagon.
