How many Super Bowl rings does Keena Turner have?

Keena Turner, a retired American professional football player, was born on October 22, 1958, in Chicago, Illinois. The Miami Dolphins took him in the second round of the 1980 NFL Draft, he was traded to the San Francisco 49ers. 

Turner, an 11-year NFL veteran, and a 6’2″ 237-pound linebacker out of Purdue University played his whole career with the 49ers from 1980 to 1990. He was a one-time Pro Bowl pick who left, the 49ers with four Super Bowl rings.

After his playing days were over, Turner worked as a co-host on television for 49ers preseason games. Turner has worked for the 49ers since the mid-1990s in a variety of positions before being recruited on June 5, 2008, to be the team’s Vice President of Football Affairs. Ella, Sheena, Miles’ father, and Linda’s husband. In Tracy, California, Turner also runs a vehicle dealership.

In the 1980s, the National Football League’s supremacy over the 49ers was personified by Keena Turner. Throughout his 11-year professional career, he was an adaptable, game-changing linebacker. Due to his passion, class, and honesty both during and after his playing career, his influence was felt off the field as well. 

Keena Turner’s NFL career and honors

Keena Turner spent the entirety of his professional football playing career with the 49ers. Over the course of a career that lasted from 1980 to 1990, Turner participated in 153 regular-season games. Turner played in the playoffs eight times, including on the 49ers’ first Super Bowl champion team.

In Super Bowl XVI, the 49ers defeated the Cincinnati Bengals 26-21 thanks to a strong defensive performance that included a sack from him. While playing for the 49ers, Turner earned four Super Bowl rings. He started with each of the three Super Bowl-winning squads coached by Hall of Fame pro football coach Bill Walsh. For many years, Keena was “simply a tremendous, great player,” according to Walsh.

For a decade, he was the finest linebacker in the NFL overall. “Anything and everything” was within his capabilities. Keena played a crucial role on those championship teams. Turner was selected in the second round of the NFL draft and was inducted into the Purdue Intercollegiate Athletics Hall of Fame in 2006. For demonstrating “courageous and inspirational performance” in 1984, he was given the Len Eshmont Award, the 49ers’ highest team honor. 

After the same championship season, he was additionally selected for the Pro Bowl. He kept doing well in several roles after retiring. He served on Walsh’s Stanford coaching staff for three seasons (1992–94). 

Turner rejoined the 49ers in 1998 and worked for the team in various capacities, including a front-office promotion to vice president and senior advisor to the general manager in 2018. According to general manager John Lynch, no one in our building knows the 49ers better than Keena.
