How many NBA Championships have the Brooklyn Nets won?
They are one of two NBA clubs in New York City, the other one is the New York Knicks. The club was founded in 1967 as a charter franchise of the American Basketball Association, the NBA’s rival league (ABA). During their first season, they were known as the New Jersey Americans before moving to Long Island, New York, in 1968 and changing their name to the New York Nets. During this time, the Nets won two ABA titles (in 1974 and 1976). The ABA amalgamated with the NBA in 1976, and the Nets were incorporated into the league along with three other ABA teams (the San Antonio Spurs, Indiana Pacers, and Denver Nuggets), all of which are still in the league today. They do not, however, have an NBA championship as of yet.
