At Madison Square Garden, Love was credited with three assists that went at least 60 feet down the court. The Heat overtook the Knicks by eight points thanks to one of those in the third quarter, giving them their biggest lead of the contest.

Love allegedly mocked the Jets’ new quarterback as he was sitting courtside at Madison Square Garden on Sunday as the Heat celebrated their 108-101 victory over the Knicks in Game 1 of their second-round playoff series.

The 34-year-old forward, who left the Cavaliers in February after agreeing to a contract buyout, followed up his rhetoric with a strong showing on the court.

During the regular season, he played in 21 games with the Heat and averaged 7.7 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 1.9 assists.

According to the New York Daily News, Love remarked after the game, “I told Aaron Rodgers, ‘I’ve got the top QBR in New York City. He hasn’t participated in a game here yet, but I noticed him sitting there. We get along well, so I went and introduced myself.

I might as well toss something at him because I spotted him sitting there.

Tuesday night’s Game 2 between the Knicks and the Heat will take place at Madison Square Garden, and it is unknown if Rodgers will be present.

Rodgers, who was officially dealt by the Packers last week to the Jets, seemed to be having fun while visiting the Garden. Before going to the Knicks game, he even sat with his new colleagues to watch the Rangers thrash the Devils, 5-2, in Game 6 of their NHL playoff series.
