“He Needs to Be With Guys That Actually Know How to Put On Fights”- Dana White Bashes Jake Paul’s Team After a Last Minute Fight Cancellation
Ever since he turned professional, Jake Paul has been an extremely polarizing figure in the world of combat sports. Paul is unquestionably one of the biggest names in the sport at the moment, however, he has made a lot of enemies in the sport including Dana White who would be more than happy to see him falter on his rise to the top of the combat sports world.
After Paul’s fight with Hasim Rahman Jr was recently called off, Dana White was asked to share his thoughts on the situation. He said, “Nobody can do that (putting on fights every weekend like the UFC). And you know, I am not going to sit up here and be happy or gloat that their fight fell out both those guys I am sure put in a lot of hard work and a lot of training to get ready for this fight, spent money to get ready for this fight.”
White continued, “But I will say this, just because you were an accountant here, does not mean you know what the f**k goes on here and does not mean you can run a fight promotion company. I think that Jake Paul probably needs to get some different people around him. If he is going to stay in this sport, he needs to be with guys that actually know how to put on fights.”
Jake Paul fails to deliver on his Madison Square Garden Promise
‘The Problem Child’ announced earlier in the year that he would be headlining an event at Madison Square Garden on August 6th. At the time the announcement was made, Paul did not have an opponent lined up.
A few weeks later, Paul announced Tommy Fury as the fighter he would take on in the ring after that fight fell out, Paul booked himself against Hasim Rahman Jr. News broke out earlier today that the fight with Rahman Jr was also scrapped as Rahman Jr and his team failed to honor the weight limit that was set for the fight and one week out from the fight Rahman Jr was significantly over the weight limit.
