“He Hypes a Lot and Does Not Deliver”- Henry Cejudo Urges the UFC to Stop Promoting ‘Lame’, ‘Decision Maker’ Israel Adesanya

At UFC 276, Israel Adesanya put his title on the line against Jared Cannonier in what was one of two title fights on the night. In the co-main event, his teammate Alexander Volkanovski put on a clinical performance as he busted up Max Holloway to settle the trilogy once and for all. However, the main event was far from an entertaining one as ‘The Last Style Bender’ had yet another ‘off night’.

‘Izzy’ received a lot of criticism for his performance from fans, pundits as well as celebrities who were in attendance. More recently, former two-division world champion Henry Cejudo shared his thoughts on Adesanya’s performance at UFC 276 in his podcast with ‘The Schmo’.

He said, “It is crazy when you come out to the Undertaker and you did not put on a performance man. It was lame dude. Main events are special dude, if he is not performing UFC stop pushing this dude, he is a decision-maker. The only fight that I can say he beat somebody really good was beating Whittaker and knocking him out. Paulo, I don’t know where the hell his head was at. I am still not impressed with this dude.”

‘Triple C’ continued, “He hypes a lot and does not deliver. He talks a lot and does not deliver. It has been like that with him for a minute now, and I think that if you’re going to call people out and do all this other stuff, it is like finish him. Put a beating on people. Be spectacular, people look forward more to his entrance than his actual fight and that is a problem.”

Israel Adesanya has a tough task on his hands in Alex Pereira

After his win over Cannonier, ‘The Last Style Bender’ had no doubt in his mind who he wanted next.

The middleweight champion called out Alex Pereira and promised to exact revenge for the two losses that he has against Pereira during their kickboxing days. Given that both men exited the octagon with no severe injuries, the fight should take place before the end of this year.
