“Haven’t Touched a Basketball Since April 5th”: Los Angeles Lakers Star Discusses Off-Season

After being eliminated from the playoffs over the last stretch of the regular season, the Los Angeles Lakers have been in the off-season for the past month and a half. For this last stretch, the Lakers possessed Anthony Davis’ services, but he was visibly restricted by his injury and needed additional time away.

Davis had all the time in the world so far, and training camp isn’t starting for another three months. With so much time off ahead of him in the off-season, now is the best time to enjoy his time away from rehab and basketball.

In fact, Davis was recently spotted eating a table full of crawfish in a viral video. Davis spent seven seasons in New Orleans before moving to Los Angeles, so it’s possible he had a Louisiana classic in crawfish with Chef Jayvoo.

“I haven’t touched a basketball since April 5th,” Davis said.

The Los Angeles Lakers’ offseason got off to a wonderful start with the announcement of Darvin Ham’s appointment as the team’s 28th head coach. During his first news conference, Ham covered a wide range of issues, but one that stood out was Anthony Davis. Davis was dubbed the ‘key’ to the team’s success by Ham, and it’s difficult to disagree because, when healthy, the star big man is a true game-changer on both ends of the court.

Davis was at his best with the Lakers in NBA 2019-20, finishing second in DPOY voting and making the all-NBA team in his first season with the franchise. Davis’s two-way play was vital in the Lakers’ 2020 NBA Championship victory. Davis will return to work as soon as possible, with the Lakers looking to prove everyone wrong next season after their startling results this season. Darvin Ham, the team’s new coach, has already taken over the reins and will instill discipline in the players once more.
