Have the San Francisco 49ers qualified for the playoffs in the 2022-23 NFL season?

The San Francisco 49ers beat the Seattle Seahawks 21-13 in Week 15 of Thursday Night Football to clinch their NFC West division as they went 10-4. With their win, Kyle Shanahan’s side also booked their place into the playoffs for the 2022-23 NFL season.

Although the Niners have had injuries at quarterback, with Trey Lance and Jimmy Garoppolo both out for the NFL season, Brock Purdy has stepped in and delivered exceptionally well. The quarterback led the team to victory over the Miami Dolphins in Week 13 after replacing the injured Garoppolo.

He then took down NFL legend Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 14 with a sensational display on his first NFL start. In Week 15, Purdy threw for 217 yards on 17 passes with two touchdowns. Despite not having the best of games, Purdy was able to guide San Francisco to the win and more importantly, the playoffs. Purdy was listed as ‘questionable’ before kickoff but still managed to play and give it his best.

Have the San Francisco 49ers qualified for playoffs?

The Niners become only the second team to confirm their playoff berth after the Philadelphia Eagles did so in Week 14. We will now wait for the remaining games of the week to conclude as there could be a few more teams that book their spots into the postseason.

Although they’ve now qualified for the playoffs, the Niners will be facing the Washington Commanders in Week 16. They will then lock horns with the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 17 before finishing off their regular season campaign by hosting the Arizona Cardinals in Week 18. Regardless of the results in their next four games, the Niners will top the AFC West division.
