Has The Tenure Between Giants & Saquon Barkley Come To An End? What’s The RB’s Future With The Team

Something is awry with the Giants’ rushing offence when Tommy DeVito leads the team in rushes and has more than twice as many yards as Saquon Barkley.

Has The Tenure Between Giants & Saquon Barkley Come To An End? What’s The RB’s Future With The Team

The Giants’ ground game was clearly flawed during their 24-6 loss to the Saints on Sunday at the Caesars Superdome. Barkley only got 14 yards on nine attempts at running it.

DeVito gained 36 yards on four rushes.

“Not my first time, probably won’t be my last,’’ Barkley said of his lack of production.

The Giants were unable to solve the movement up front, despite the Saints entering the game allowing 131.5 yards per game on the run.

According to Barkley’s theory, the Giants are unable to turn things around when things start to go wrong. He noted that there is little flexibility to flex and correct direction once the activity begins to tilt in the incorrect way.

Barkley stated, “You try your best to stay away from it, but sometimes games like that are gonna happen. It’s just part of the league.” “We  got to do a better job, collectively, of putting ourselves in better positions to make plays and when the plays come, making those plays when things are going bad and we didn’t do it. If you look at a lot of our games this year, the games we lost and the games that got out of hand, we never stopped the bleeding. It’s been a common theme in the games that have been bad for us this year. We got to find a way to get better in those situations.”

Hearing Barkley discuss what must happen when there’s a good possibility he’ll be attempting to make it happen somewhere else is becoming more and more unsettling. His contract expires at the conclusion of the current campaign, which we now know will happen following the Week 18 matchup at MetLife Stadium with the Eagles.

Barkley isn’t going to publicly declare that the Giants lack skill or that they should improve. He doesn’t need to say what is evident already. The offensive line needs two or three new starters, as seen by his terrible stat line against the Saints (9 runs for 14 yards).

Is Saquon Barkley a pro bowler?

In the 23–16 loss to the Dallas Cowboys in Week 3, Barkley gained 126 scrimmage yards and a running score. In the Week 4 victory over the Chicago Bears, Barkley rushed for 146 yards. He received a Pro Bowl selection.

What is Saquon Barkley good at?

With 1,988 receiving yards, Barkley may join Tiki Barber, Alex Webster, and Hall of Famer Frank Gifford as the fourth Giants player with 5,000 running yards and 2,000 receiving yards. Barkley, in conclusion, is headed toward being the ninth player in Giants history to reach 7,000 total yards. He has 6,924 when he starts the game.
