Grizzlies-Lebron James Beef Explained: Dillon Brooks Ready To Face LeBron In The Playoffs
The reigning champion Lakers and the Grizzlies were engaged in a competitive contest in Memphis at the start of January 2021. As the clock ticked down to the final seconds, LA sent the ball to Lebron James, who had Dillon Brooks on either side of him.
James made sure to let Brooks know that he didn’t quite measure up with many “too small” remarks, despite the fact that Brooks has always been a competitor and has developed into Memphis’ defensive stopper in recent years.

Dillon Brooks isn’t running from the heat because he has faith in his team. The contentious player wrote to the Lakers claiming that defeating LeBron James would alter anyone’s legacy and that he wanted to seize the chance.
“I wouldn’t mind playing LeBron in a 7-game series,” said Brooks. “There is a legacy. First time back in the playoffs, knock him out right away in the first round. It’ll put us to the test. They have quality players and components, so it will be a favourable first-round clash for us.”

This might be in reaction to Draymond Green‘s claim that Brooks has accomplished nothing in his NBA career and that a victory against LeBron would be extremely beneficial for Dillon. The Grizzlies are still trying to win the championship and a win against an inspired Lakers team will be the best start for their run.
Prior to their first-round playoff showdown, LeBron James evaluated the Memphis Grizzlies and didn’t overlook Dillon Brooks.
The King displayed his impressive recall by discussing every member of the Memphis Grizzlies squad, even mentioning some of their key players. in relation to Dillon Brooks.

LeBron said of the swingman, “Dillon Brooks, he’ll have the chance to go out there and you can’t disrespect him because he makes shots.”
After a decisive victory against the Minnesota Timberwolves in the play-in round, the Los Angeles Lakers locked up the 7th spot in the Western Conference rankings. Dennis Schroder saved the Purple and Gold from defeat in overtime when they were up against a formidable club.
Now that the Grizzlies are one of the greatest teams in the West and will undoubtedly put up a solid fight against the Lakers, the challenge will be greater for them.

Desmond Bane decided to nudge James just as everything was getting along well, and James most certainly didn’t take it lying down.
James immediately retaliated against Bane on the following possession as a result of the chippiness.
The back-and-forth that was happening at that very time was only the start. Floor microphones captured a witty interaction between the Grizzlies and James, who was irritated by what he saw to be disrespect from his rival.

After feeling insulted by Bane, James wasted little time turning his ire against Jaren Jackson Jr., who seemed to have received the raw deal despite Memphis having a commanding lead.
Memphis has a lot to gain from this game, but it also has a lot to lose, despite LeBron’s drive to stop the Grizzlies and Brooks’s confidence to eliminate LeBron. The competition between the squad and the king has sparked a lot of fire, making this series entertaining to watch!
"I wouldn't mind playing LeBron [James] in a 7-game series. The legacy is there. First time back in the playoffs, knock him out right away. It'll test us good. They got good pieces, good players. That'll be a good 1st-round matchup for us."
