“Gotta be a better teammate gotta be a better leader” said Travis Kelce after His Fight with His Teammate

When Travis Kelce caught a touchdown pass from Patrick Mahomes during practice on Saturday, the tension at the Kansas City Chiefs training camp spiked.

The tight end punched his teammate Jack Cochrane after he attempted to steal the ball late. The incident was caught on camera by Nicholas Roesch of Chiefs Wire, and it can be seen that Kelce punched Cochrane in the end zone after completing the catch.

Until cornerback Trent McDuffie interfered and put a stop to it, the two players continued to shove and argue.

This was not the first heated altercation Kelce had at the training camp. He got into a fight with a referee the day before, which involved more extracurricular activity than typical during practice.

Additionally, Travis Kelce and CB Dicaprio Bootle had fought, and Bootle also made an attempt to steal the ball after the play finished. They had to be separated by safety Bryan Cook and running back La’Mical Perine.

“Gotta be a better teammate gotta be a better leader… plain and simple,” Kelcetweeted on Saturday.

As the club gets ready to defend its Super Bowl championship, Chiefs coach Andy Reid stated his distaste for the fights and emphasized that they have no place in the game.

“Fighting is a waste of time,” Reid said according to ESPN.

“You get thrown out of games doing it, you get hurt out here doing it. But they’re going to jaw. It’s hot, humid. They’re going to jaw a little bit. Just as long as there are not punches thrown, we’re all right.”
