“Got tired of calling you my girlfriend,” said NFL star Kenny Pickett as he got married to his girlfriend Amy Paternoster

At the University of Pittsburgh, where he played college football, he was a Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award winner and a Heisman Trophy finalist as a senior. Summer 2023 was officially begun with Kenny Pickett saying “I do.”

About a year and a half after becoming engaged, the second-year quarterback for the Steelers wed fiancée Amy Paternoster on Saturday.

For the special occasion, Pickett, 25, wore a traditional black suit with a back bowtie, while Paternoster, a Princeton University alumna, and former collegiate soccer player, chose a stunning, slender white gown that highlighted her shoulders. It was finished off with a long veil and an open back.

Pictures and videos of guests dancing for the first time on a smoke-filled floor, sharing a kiss as they walked back down the aisle, and sharing wedding cake with each other were some of the attendees Pickett published to his Instagram Stories.

Following the Instagram declaration of their relationship in April 2021, Pickett joyously revealed their engagement in January 2022.

“Got tired of calling you my girlfriend… here’s to a lifetime with the person I cherish more than anything in the world. You make me a better person and I could not imagine life without you. I love you more forever and always!!” he posted on Instagram at the time.

Throughout the pre-NFL draft process, Paternoster backed the former University of Pittsburgh quarterback, and he was present when the Steelers selected him with the 20th overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.

“Words cannot describe how proud I am of you, nor how happy I am to see all of your dreams come true,” Paternoster gushed on Instagram in April 2022.

“There is nobody more deserving of this! I can’t wait to see all of the amazing things you have yet to accomplish. Let’s go home!!!”

Pickett played in 13 regular-season games during his first season with the Steelers, completing passes for 2,404 yards, seven touchdowns, and nine interceptions.

He also scored three touchdowns on the ground.

In a January Instagram post, Paternoster—who cheered for Pickett at games throughout the year—recapped the couple’s inaugural NFL season.

Paternoster posted the collage of images, which showed her and Pickett posing on the pitch at Pittsburgh’s Acrisure Stadium, “Lookin back on Year 1 and forward to the next.”

Paternoster’s family hosted a bridal shower for her in May, and the couple has spent a significant amount of the off-season planning the wedding.

But before this weekend’s events, Pickett and Paternoster had to kindly decline tickets to see Taylor Swift’s mega-hit “Eras Tour,” which performed at Acrisure Stadium back-to-back evenings earlier this month.

“I hope she can forgive us, but maybe we’ll be at the next one,” Pickett said.
